Tribes – ‘Sappho’ video shoot

The Camden based indie band Tribes, asked me and my friends from Sink the Pink to come and “Tranny up” for their new video to their single ‘Sappho’, which was recently played as Zane Lowe’s Hottest Record in the World’. Dressed in our finest bad drag we happily minced off to The George Tavern in East London for the day. The George is known for being an incredible arts, music and performance venue as well as a pub, which attracts names such as Sophie Ellis Bextor and Kate Moss to go down for a pint. We joined the band and their friends on an elaborate and very funny day of filming.

The band were styled by Naomi Parry who also looks after Amy Winehouse, but we however just threw ourselves into a bucket of glitter and this is what happened. I think you will agree it’s a strong look for 2011. The boys looked hilarious and the video is being edited now. You will have to wait to see the full affect, but here’s a sneak peek at what some were wearing. I know it’s difficult but please do not confuse me for Sarah Harding from Girls Aloud, it’s an easy mistake. The EP ‘Sappho’ by Tribes is out soon.
